Results 2008: Introduction
At the time of analysis (December 2008), the database AHEAD Main contained data of 2339 patients. However, comprehensive records were found only for 2245 patients. In this population, the total reported mortality reached 11.6 %. The analyses revealed important differences in the hospital mortality, as well as in the hospitalization length in different risk groups, defined by the etiology and observed syndromes. The analyses also indicated significant risk factors for total mortality, namely the age of >75 years, low blood pressure (SBP <120mmHg, DBP <80mmHg), ST segment elevation, EF < 50 %, coma and somnolence.
